If you're participating in one of the clinics, here are the waivers in PDF form: Adult Waiver | Minor Waiver
Just click on the one that pertains to you and print it out, fill it out, and bring it with you when you come to check in the morning of the clinic. Insurance regulations require participants to be at least 13 years of age.

We will not have any copies of the participant waivers with us at the clinic. It is very important that you have your waiver with you, signed and fully filled out.

Important Note

***Make sure to have a friend, spouse, or family member (an adult) witness it for you!***

Without a completed waiver, you will not receive an armband allowing you in the arena to participate in the clinic.

*A completed waiver means that all pages are initialed at the bottom, all forms are filled out right, and all witness spots have been witnessed by someone (an adult) other than yourself.
Clinic Check In:

Check in occurs 45 minutes before the start of the clinic on the first day.

You must have your completed release with you in order to receive an armband to enter the arena.

If you are arriving with your horse the day before the clinic, please contact the clinic organizer for instructions.

It is highly recommended that you do not use a shanked bit. A snaffle, traditional hackamore (bosal), or rope halter is preferred for the riding portion. A rope halter with a long lead (12ft) and no hardware (snap) is preferred for groundwork. It is also requested that you bring a lunge whip/flag.

General Clinic Schedule: (Get with your host on the clinic start and end times)

1st Day:

Group 1: Start at 8:00 AM
End at 10:00 AM

Group 2: Start at 10:00 AM
End at 12:00 PM

- Lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM -

Group 1: Start back at 1:00 PM
End at 3:00 PM

Group 2: Start at 3:00 PM
End at 5:00 PM

*2nd day will be the same*

*Day 3 (if applicable) will have the same times as well*

These times are approximate. Carson will shorten lunch breaks and extend other sessions if the teaching points are not finished when a break is called for.

**This is important for you as the participant. If you need to self-break, do so, do not wait for him to stop or you might be waiting a long time.

We highly recommend that you be able to Walk, Trot, and Lope the horse that you are bringing to the clinic on a loose rein.

The clinic will cover the following:
  • Groundwork until lunch
  • Rein management (being able to adjust your hands and reins for what you are trying to achieve)
  • Backing and how to improve it
  • Gaining refined control of the feet (the key to gaining access into your horse's mind)
  • Learning how timing causes the horse to WANT to do what your asking
  • Getting lateral control of the front and hind end individually
  • Side passing
  • Speed transitions (only as fast as you are comfortable with)
  • Speed transitions (only as fast as you are comfortable with)
  • Stops and how to improve them
  • How to create lightness
  • Making your horse reliable
This is just a basic outline, but just like horses, no two clinics are the same. We will not have an extensive amount of time for "problem solving" so if you have the option, bring the horse that is ready to learn. For example, if all your horse can think about is being buddy sour and going too fast, it will be harder to get him thinking about side passing.
